The End of Year 2010

Less than twenty four hours to mark an end for Year 2010 and I reckon that I should pen down an entry or at least something to mark the end of this year. Who knows if I might google search my blog ten years later and re-read all my archives? ;)

Anyway, 2010 is definitely another year to take note of and to think about it, I'm glad I've actually made full use of my "2010 Diary" that daddy has given me at the start of this year! :D For a second thought, I've never been this consistent with diaries and flipping through it makes me proud as I've put this year to ultimate use and satisfaction.

This is the year that I've decided to further pursue my studies (apart from just having a Bachelor of Business and Commerce) or maybe I was not quite ready to enter the working force :P! Anyway, I have never regretted making this choice and truth be told, I have learned a whole lot of new things as compared to what I've learned in my degree :) Life during my Honours days wasn't easy but I'm glad I've managed to pull through smoothly. Quotes Mom and Sis, "During your Bachelor days, you'd be happy enough if you have attained a Pass and now, you'll get all upset if you didn't manage to get a High Distinction for a particular unit -_-" Indeed, I couldn't agree more!

This is also the year I've decided to work while I am studying. I finally understood the stress, anxiety and everything put together of those who were working and studying. Imagine having to do countless of research, studying, analysing and then getting your bum off to work early next day. It is definitely not an easy task. I am more than happy to have gotten a High Distinction for my 20,000 words research thesis that I have written from scratch and at the same time supporting myself financially :)

My family kept asking if I was doing alright, if I could cope and the favourite questions were "do you need money? (as I haven't been asking my parents for money for quite awhile now)" and "do you have enough to spend" Lol! As much as I want to say "no, I never have enough to spend! Lol" but I know I had to do this by myself!

Aside from that, I have had an eventful year with the company of closest friends, working with mates who love me more than ever and always having my family and boyfriend supporting me throughout the year.

I do hope that everything will turn out as smoothly or even better in 2011 and hopefully I can achieve what I've been dreaming of. To think of it, it is about time to pen down my plans for the coming five years! Here is to wishing everyone a Happy New Year and for a better year ahead! :D

Dinner at Hogs Breath Cafe

It was one of the weekend nights when my tummy was craving for juicy meat and the moment I suggested it to Kel, we both nodded to Hogs Breath Cafe. My first attempt to Hogs Breath was in Canberra and my oh my, I never would have expected to feast on such good quality meat (considering the price that we paid!) in a cafe. Three words; affordable, delicious, tender!

So this time around, in order to satisfy my cravings, we've decided to pay a visit to Hogs Breath again and we were surprised by the amount of customers they had at 6pm.. Yes, we thought we were early but we were definitely proven wrong. As expected, my expectation on a medium-rare beef with sides was definitely met and I walked out with a satisfied tummy by the end of the night! Enjoy the pictures, dear readers!

We decided to give this cocktail a go but it was just mediocre. Besides it being green, there's nothing to be amazed about.

Hers: Medium-rare beef with additional calamaris and two side dishes. Spell Y-U-M-M-Y already, can you?

His: Medium-rare as well with mushroom toppings and two side dishes. Without doubt, it was delicious as well!

While we were digging in, we suddenly received an sms and boy, it was our housemates seated a few tables away from us! Talking about coincidental already!

The Boyfriend's 26th Birthday (Part 2)

Most of you would have known that I have started working (on a casual) basis for a food company nearby Clayton. My role involves everything and anything in the office ranging from MYOB to telemarketing. I am glad to have started working as I can now shamelessly say that whatever expenses I am incurring are of my own hard-earned money. Never liked being called a spoilt brat, mind me :)

Anyhow, let's continue with the second part of the boyfriend's birthday! We had a small birthday dinner/ get-together at New Quay Buffet, Docklands. The restaurant boast a wide variety of international cuisine and I must say the price was pretty daymn worth for the amount of food they offer. However, the downside was the quality of service offered was beyond atrocious. I really do hope they will take note of this comment and actually try to improvise their service. The Boyfriend's 26th Birthday (Part 1)

August is indeed one of the many eventful months throughout the year. I am already worn out by now with the boyfriend's birthday, friends' birthdays, clubbing events (coming up) and etc. As the boyfriend's official birthday fall on the 19th of August, we had a continuous birthday celebration for three consecutive days! It was also my first time celebrating his birthday and boy, listening to him saying "Thank you bi, this is definitely the best birthday ever!" definitely made me smile from ear to ear :)

The first part of his birthday celebration was at Ibuki, Flinders Lane for dinner. As it was a working Thursday, I patiently waited for him to come get me for dinner and also managed to schedule dinner at 830pm as I was pretty worried if we might be late. I like having my plans to be perfectly executed (I'm a perfectionist like that, sigh).

I have heard, or rather read aplenty of reviews on Ibuki and since the boyfriend insisted to give it a try, we managed to book a table for two at its new branch in Flinders Lane. Ibuki serves a standard menu of 5 course meal for only $50 and 10 course meal for $100 (both deals are priced for each person) to its customers. We were starving as hell when we reached and without a doubt, we went for the $100, 10 course meal. *gulps.

To be honest, by the 7th or 8th dish, we were already stuffed to brim and our tummies were crying for help already. The quality of food was pretty mediocre and unfortunately, it doesn't make me long for it like how I long for Nobu :( However, the prices in Nobu is definitely incomparable to Ibuki as Nobu's prices are way far-fetched to Ibuki's. Besides, the catch to dining in Ibuki is to dine with a big group of people (10 or more) as the servings will worth more. Enjoy the pictures! So that was my preference, what's yours?

Please excuse the self-absorbed pictures! I was bored to death waiting for the boyfriend to come pick me up and the only thing that caught my attention was my camera left unattended. Hence, the pictures! :)

The first dish: Sashimi platter which was yummy! =)

Second dish: Beef Tataki which was pretty unique (my first attempt to this style of serving).

Third dish: Baked oysters, mussels and scallops of different style. This was just mediocre, nothing to shout about.

Fourth dish: Chawanmushi which was really good! By far the smoothest chawanmushi I've ever eaten! As expected, we licked the tiny cup clean! :)

Fifth dish: Sushi platter which was delicious too!

Sixth dish: Tempura platter which was EXCELLENT! Loved its variety ranging from lobsters to cauliflowers! Lol, yup, ever eaten cauliflower and other sort of vegetables' tempura before? ;)

Seventh dish (which was said to be a combination of the 8th dish as well): Japanese Noodle soup which was extremely normal, quite a disappointment, to be exact.

9th and 10th dishes (all put together): Fruits and Japanese dessert on the top left which were pretty good!

Of Hot Pot and Bubble Tea

It was one random Wednesday when the boyfriend and I had this sudden decision of having hot pot for dinner (I lied, we've been craving for weeks already! Teehee*). Anyway, I was busy sending text messages and bbms to the usual few and in the end, only two managed to join us for dinner.

Golden House serves all-you-can-eat hot pot ala China style to its customers. Alongside with that, they serve a variety of cold dishes as well as a few of its specialties which includes peking duck and 'xiao long bao'. Yes, you heard that right, all those for only $25.00 per person. To top it off, each person is entitled to two drinks (of any type where you can get them from the fridge).

So being a food lover, I would say the quality of food is above average considering the price that we're paying. However, the downside is we're only given a plate of fresh sliced meat (beef or mutton) each which is quite a let down as I LOVE my hot pot to be filled with tons and tons of fresh sliced meat! :) Nevertheless, the cold dishes, peking duck and xiao long bao definitely did cover its flaws as we ordered plates and plates of these three dishes (it's all inclusive in the $25.00 so you know what to do already!)!

So to those of you who have been craving for hot pot accompanied by other variety of food, head on over to Hawthorn already! :)

After dinner, we headed for second round (drinks we meant!) at Ten Ren for a dose of bubble tea and other drinks. To be honest, I'm an avid fan of Easyway and Bubble Cup's bubble tea and without a doubt, these two definitely beat Ten Ren's bubble tea hands down! P/s: it's the author's own preference :)
In addition, Ten Ren definitely wins the award of having the "Worst Service" ever. The staffs are really rude and insisted not to own up to their own errors and blamed the customers' for the errors. Tsk tsk* They really need to improve on their flaws or everyone will fleet across the road or beside the other Ten Ren for Easyway bubble tea already. However, Ten Ren offers absolutely juicy yet delicious spicy fried chicken which convinces me to drop by each and every time to have a takeaway for snack time! That would be the only reason for me to drop by at Ten Ren.

My Short but Wonderful Winter Break!

It's been almost a month since I'm back in Melbourne and I am still not used to the "4 seasons in a day" weather :( Likewise, nothing has changed in Melbourne except for the weather! :( Anyway, this semester seems easy-going for me as there is only a research thesis to be completed by October 22nd. Yes, you heard that right. After the 22nd, I'll be free like a bird! :D However, the downside is it's of 30,000 words and there are actually many steps to complete this thesis! Sigh. :( Nonetheless, I have no regrets taking Honours and I actually hope my thesis will be good enough to be published and sold! :)

Boring updates aside, let's move on to my laid back updates which took almost a month to be updated. Enjoy the pictures and don't salivate on your keyboard! P/s: Only quality food pictures will be posted here as this would be an extremely long entry. Have an enjoyable read about what I have to write about Malaysia (mostly KL and PJ- read on and you'll know where these places are!).

Daddy's 60th Birthday Celebrations

We were initially planning to throw daddy a big ass birthday party whereby all his friends and relatives will be invited. However, Mommy Teh strongly banned the idea as there was a custom belief where we are only allowed to heavily celebrate the 60th Birthday when any of their children is married! What nonsense belief is this?? Anyway, we decided to follow suit Mommy's order and Daddy was practically bouncing off his chair the moment he saw me appearing in front of him! Teehee! What's more important than a family reunited? :)

We had three celebrations containing of cake-cutting session at home, birthday dinner at Toh Yuen Chinese Restaurant and buffet lunch at Royale Chulan Hotel. Enjoy the pictures and captions! =)

Buffet Lunch at Lemon Garden Cafe, Shangri-la Hotel Kuala Lumpur

Where to go for a buffet lunch or dinner in Kuala Lumpur? The answer definitely is Lemon Garden Cafe, Shangri-La Hotel. This cafe boasts a wide (PLENTIFUL) of selection ranging from starters to dessert. With its top-notch quality, there's got to be a top-notch price to pay for as well. As mentioned, I do not know most of the prices of food that I've eaten but if I'm not mistaken it's definitely above RM100 per person for buffet lunch. Excuse the limited pictures as we were pretty busy bashing our tummies with extremely delicious food ;)

Huey Sun's Birthday Celebrations at The Curve, Damansara

Why is it birthday celebrations, you may ask? We first headed to The Apartment for dinner. The Apartment's standard of food definitely has deteriorated greatly from the last I visited. The food was pretty atrocious and the worst part came when a friend of mine, Vincci actually found a tiny bit of plastic in her pasta. The restaurant did compensate her by offering her two desserts and tapas. However, such a disappointing visit definitely hinder me from dining there again.

After dinner, we then head on the The Library, Cineleisure which is of a minute walking distance from The Curve for drinks. A great place to chill and have a good chat but weekends are definitely a BIG no-no to visit. It was sardine-packed with humans and the noise level was beyond crazy that we had to literally shout into one another's ears as we speak.

Our third destination was to Tao which was located a step away from The Library. We had more beers and this time around it was Kilkenny for us. Word of advice: beer offered in Tao is beyond terrible and it tasted very much like chinese medicine. Please stay away if you do not wish to taste anything like chinese medicine.

One Utama (1u) in Petaling Jaya is the place I will be most of my every day or weekend. This shopping mall is the place where I dated when I was young, the place where I shop most of the time and the place I grew up with. This time along it was dinner with the girls at Delicious, Ms. Read. Food offered in Ms. Read never ceases to amaze me and due to that, I've also noticed the gradual price increase for every time I pay a visit.

Random 2 Days 1 Night Trip to Genting Highlands, Pahang

The family suddenly decided to take a drive up to Genting Highlands (another famous tourist attraction) for a two days one night trip. It was more of a foodie and relaxing trip as we've been to all the entertainment parks, casino, theaters and even the cinemas! Lol, another place which I never cease to visit every single year.

First Half of Year 2010 (Part 2)

My family and I had a 3 days 2 nights stay over the weekend at KL. It was mommy's idea to have a short getaway and also just to accommodate a shopping trip for her two daughters! :) I definitely enjoyed my weekend! C'mon, eating almost every hour of the day and accompanied with excellent shopping items (4 dresses, 2 tops and 1 jumpsuit) in 1 day of shopping, what more can one asks for? ;) I've really got to stop shopping already! Rawr! Anyway, more of Melbourne for now! Enjoy scrolling away! :)

Wen Fei's Visit to Melbourne

Darling bestie and his boy visited Melbourne for a week in May! :) It's been so long since we last reunited and the best part is, this time around, we're accompanied by our boyfriends! Double date it was! ;) It was also my first time meeting Sven (bestie's boy) and I can now hereby approve him! Good catch darling (and to Sven as well)! =) Hope we'll have even more trips together alright (got to continue planning already!).

Anyway, it was my (and Kel's) pleasure to bring the couple around Melbourne. Knowing that both the boyfriends clicked so well just made everything so perfect altogether. =) This gives us girls more spare time to catch up, gossip and shop too! Teehee! And I'm pretty sure all four of us were stuffed by the end of the trip as we were munching and eating all the time! Lol.

I'm missing the bestie already :( The one who will always be there for me no matter how far we are separated, the one who is genuine and honest enough, and the one who cares and believes in our friendship throughout these years. =) I know despite whatever obstacle that I've been through or will be going through, you will always be supporting and respecting my decision :) Always remember that Sue will always be here for you as well! Our 1st Year Anniversary @ Crown

It was our first year anniversary and we decided to have a simple celebration as I had plenty of assignments due on the next day :( However, darling was really sweet to plan all the surprise for me! And I did give him tons of surprises as well! Hee.

Time really flies, I must say! =) It was just a blink of an eye and one year has passed. I never been happier throughout this year and I do hope for more years of us to come :) Thank you for everything that you've done for me, taking care of me all the time, understanding me so well, being patient with me and loving me unconditionally. I love you bi =)

The surprise that I woke up to! *Teehee* "I want to make u as fat and prosperous as possible along with making you the happiest and luckiest girl in the world so that all the boys will stay away from you!" said Kel.

We celebrated E's 22nd a few days earlier as her exact birth date is pretty close to finals. We had Japanese food for dinner and then headed to Karaoke after. It's been so long since I last met up with Shirmin and like finally, we managed to meet up and have a long session. Ah, Thank God it's finally raining! :) The heat in Malaysia for the past few days was CRAZY. I have to succumb myself in air-conditioning places and hide away from the sun! The worst part comes when you're all dressed up with make-up on and there you go, all tumbling over :( Anyway, I've promised to catch up on my outdated entries on Melbourne for the long disappearance and here they are! Back to School Party @ VII

There are always reasons to party in Melbourne. As most shops (especially boutiques!) close at 5-6pm, the only activities to do at night consist of eating, clubbing and singing our hearts out at karaoke. Just the other day, a particular someone was brutally commenting that people in Melbourne take clubbing and nightlife activity as their routine which concluded them to think we don't study or work (for the working adults). Hah, wonders of Facebook which notify every single bit of your updates to the world! Oh well, my verdict is, who takes photos when they're studying? I guess that person must be heck of a nerd already! Plus, nobody's interested in looking at photos of studying, the process of it and etc. You've got to agree with me on this, don't you think? :)

So here it is, the welcome back party for all students at VII on the first week when I arrived back to Melbourne. The queue was massively long that even we had to wait for approximately an hour to get in! What more to those who started queuing at 9pm -_- Nonetheless, the wait was worthwhile as the night was awesome and I had great fun with my girls and boys! :) Met tons of people throughout the night and we were busy catching up and snapping away! So, enjoy the pictures!

Seeing that it was the first few weeks of school, I've decided to make a trip down to the city and had a slumber party with the girls (and Keith, you lucky boy!). It was mad fun as we were having the most random topics to talk about and had a good night laughing away. We should have more sleepovers when I'm back! ;) The next day was shopping with the girls at Ikea, Bourke Street and many other places.

As we were busy packing and moving things into the new house, we decided to have a simple Korean BBQ dinner to celebrate our 10 monthsary together :) You can tell from the pictures that we were extremely exhausted and worn out. Welcoming Choopsie to the Family

I still remember it was one fine afternoon when darling and I was craving for China food which led us to Boxhill. As I was busy doing my usual shopping, Kel was so bored that he decided to drop by the Pet Shop. Not long after, he came back telling me that he was so attracted to the puppy and decided to buy her for me! I wasn't quite ready as most of you know that I'm extremely afraid of dogs but oh well, I've overcome that fear already! :) We were squeezing our brain cells to find a suitable name for her which has to be something different from the conventional names and there you go, Choopsie it is! Lol, sounds funny but she's liking it! =) Ah, she was really cute and timid when we first brought her home but now, things have changed. She now claims herself as the "Princess of Clayton" and she can be really naughty and rebellious! Regardless her being such a pain in the ass, we still love her very much. I'm actually missing her already.. :(

Easter Break Trip @ Lakes Entrance
Approximately 17 of us headed to Lakes Entrance during Easter weekend for a short getaway. Although there were many miscommunication and misunderstandings, I have to say that I had fun with all of them! :) And it's amazing to have a group of boys who are all extremely talented in cooking as all we girls did throughout the trip was plastering our butts to the chairs all the time and enjoying the food!

The sun, sand and sea were really beautiful too! I am already missing the late night chats, mahjong sessions and spontaneous games we played throughout the nights! I'm longing for trips already!!

A good trip is filled with free flow of alcohol and plenty of food! :)

It was Joanne's birthday celebration at Seven and it was my first time meeting the sisters (both Joanne and Janisa)! Really nice and pretty girls, I must say. Oh and not to forget, friendly too! We had fun dancing our nights away! I remembered puking as I had way too many drinks and having them one another really mixed up my body system. Oh well, I had awesome fun despite the puking part. Lol.

I am Back

It's been long.. far too long that I almost forgotten the existence of this blog. Rawr. Kidding. How can I forget something which has been a part of my life throughout these years? Anyway, mini updates of me after half a year of MIA are as below:

1. Exam ended yesterday and went for dinner after with the Honours bunch. Like what michelle said, we are totally RAD!! ;) More partying, dinner and activities when I'm back eyh? :)

2. I am finally back home. Yes, Malaysia it is! Took the next flight back to Malaysia which was this afternoon! :) Will be back home for a month, so to my beloved people, we've got to catch up! whee!

3. Managed to surprise Daddy love and the look on his face was definitely priceless. Shocked, surprised and happy plastered all over his face definitely made me smile from ear to ear. =))

4. Though I'm enjoying the comfort of home with yummy home-cooked food specially prepared by Mommy, I am DETESTING the weather. I've been sweating profusely and after bathing a couple of times, I still feel extremely sticky all over. EWWWWW.

Alright then, will update this blog more often with aplenty of outdated updates of Melbourne as well as current updates! Stay tuned people.

It has come to an end..

Most of you knew that I was working for the past two months but even if you didn’t, now you do! It was during my final semester examination period when I received a phone call for a job offer. After much discussion, I was being told that I could go on a contract basis which was for 2 months and I was automatically being taken in even without going through any interviews or application of jobs :) I was more than grateful and excited at the same time as this was definitely a good head start and I could actually focus on my exams at that time.

What more can I ask for after being offered in the Business Consulting line at Synovate without any experience at all and heck, I could even negotiate when I could start my contract! Thank you so much for the opportunity :) I know it’s not easy taking in a complete (not quite at that time I was being offered) fresh grad with no experience at all to start off in the consulting line.

So this time around, things didn’t go as easily as I thought it was. I’ve really learned how to work and actually meet deadlines. One of the new experiences includes having aplenty of in-depth interviews with CEOs and MDs of various companies. I was really motivated by them and I’ve come to realise that most successful corporate men and women are all outspoken as well as knowledgeable beings.

Next, I’ve also learned to actually read the newspapers every single day as you’ve got to know what’s going on to actually be abreast with the successful ones. Moreover, I’ve learned how to write reports on various ongoing projects. I must admit that there are times when my brain just died on me when the deadline was due and I had no choice but to vomit something out at the end of the day. Like hello, if you’re asking me to write a report on shopping, I bet it’ll be done in an hour but about finance, economics, accounting, marketing and business –like materials all put together definitely gave me frequent headaches.

However, minor mistakes, flaws and negative comments only made me improve myself and to better perform the next time around. Learning from my own mistakes and flaws were certainly difficult for me but I do know that the only way to better improve myself is to learn from all the mistakes.

Also, I’ve learned how to take on responsibilities seeing that should anything goes haywire; I will cost the company large amount of deficits. On the other hand, juggling and helping out on a few projects at a go, teamwork and having ‘take-away’ of workload back home were indeed things that have influenced me to be a better person. To sum things up, I had a valuable experience in Synovate as an “Associate Business Analyst” and I shall take this experience as a stepping stone in my future undertakings.

I wouldn't say it was the best year ever but 2009 was definitely the year I will never regret on. So, I hope 2010 will be a better year with more intriguing yet fulfilling year to come and before I head off to Genting to embrace the beautiful fireworks with sardine-packed crowd, I would like to say, HAPPY NEW YEAR everyone! My 21st Birthday (Part 3 and 4)

So it’s been a decade since year 2000, or rather, ten years flew past so fast that I didn’t notice I’m already 21. I don’t know if this happens to anyone of you but I realised I have difficulties adapting to another brand new year every start of the year, only having to actually season myself when I’ve come to realise another year is nearing to an end. During work this morning, I kept writing dates of year 2009, typing year 2009 and even speak as though it was still 2009. You get my drift yea?

That aside, although it’s a brand New Year, my updates still remains stacked in the dust waiting to be published and this makes no exception this time around. Yup, my birthday entry it is, which was what? A month ago? Time really flies.

Dinner with My Dearest Friends @ Telawi Street Bistro, Bangsar

As mentioned, reason why I was late for the dinner was because I was spending too much time anxiously refreshing my results page on that day till I was so late for my own birthday dinner! Thank God it was pretty daymn good news for me alright! :) I planned for a cosy, warm dinner and I've really got to thank everyone of you who made it that night despite being busy and things like that. Dinner with closed friends is definitely something I was wanting all along. Thank you guys!

Food at Telawi Street Bistro definitely meets expectation for the price we paid =) It was my first time there and I was satisfied with the quality of food served. The only sad thing was that I should have worn something more comfortable rather than squeezing my spare tyres to its brim. RAWR. But all in all, here’s my time to extend my gratitude again to my darling friends.

The birthday celebration doesn’t end at Zouk. Next day, it was sing k session with Huey Sun, Vincci and Serene at Neway and it was awesome. Although I was physically tired, I still had the enthusiasm to print out Chinese ‘pin yin’ and sang my favourite songs repeatedly. LOL. And honestly, I never expected the girls to surprise me with a birthday cake, singing me a birthday song ala karaoke style, and for the beautiful presents. AHAHA, these cheeky girls lied to me saying they were going to the loo but came in with a surprise which I least expect! But honestly, THANK YOU SO MUCH GIRLFRIENDS! One thing for sure, we’re girlfriends for life k! :)

In a nutshell, that was my one week long birthday celebration filled with surprises and love from my beloved people. I must agree that this is definitely the BEST 21st ever for me! What mattered most was the company and love that I was being showered throughout the entire week. Now tell me, who celebrates a one week long birthday? Teehee. Love you guys to bits!

My 21st Birthday (Part 2)

Day 2 of my birthday celebration was on December 2nd itself with the boyfriend. We started off our day as early as 1030am by watching 2012 at One U. Although many said that the movie was very predictable, I would like to say at some parts of the movie, it takes one (least myself) to realise that life’s too short and never to waste even a minute of life which anyone might regret on it if should it come true.

Anyway, back on track, after the movie, we had light lunch and I was warned by the boyfriend even a week before that there will be plenty of surprises awaiting me to unfold. This was how it went.

Surprise #1
After leaving OU, he was driving to this unknown place which I was so close to thinking that he’ll bring me to sell. Lol. And when we reached, he told me to wait in the car and off he went somewhere else and came back with a huge bouquet of blue roses! He then returned to the car with a bouquet of blue roses (my all-time favourite!) along with my birthday present and I was speechless when that happened. Yikes ;)

Surprise #2
He was being all mysterious to where we were going to have dinner till we reached the destination. Yup, it was Sense, Hilton Hotel. He was even suggesting BKT for my birthday dinner! Hmph! We had a 6-course fine dining meal specially cooked by an invited chef from Singapore. Each dish comes with a different type of wine to follow suit the dish served. The dinner must have burned a huge hole in your wallet but really, thanks.

Surprise #3
He actually told my sister not to get my favourite cake from Secret Recipe (oreo cheese is the shyt!) and after such a fulfilling meal, he actually told the waiters to sing a birthday song for me and I was shocked and happy all at once. You could have imagined having fine dining food and the whole restaurant knew it was your birthday and actually sang for you. SHY*

So with all three surprises in one day which was planned for months, I was definitely the happiest and luckiest birthday girl for that night :) Thank you so much for everything honey. I love you =) Time for pictures already! ;)

My 21st Birthday (Part 1)

Grateful, contented, happy, bliss are among the few words that explain my current emotion. Turning 21 was indeed a blast and I definitely have NOTHING to complain about. My one week long 21st birthday celebration was more than spectacular and to top things off, the best present sent from God one day after my birthday was to witness with my own eyes my excellent results of a streak of HDs in my final semester in degree life =) I shall proceed with the updates :)

As I’ve mentioned, my family has the tradition to celebrate my birthday earlier which was December 1st, 2009 :) The day started off as early as 10 in the morning whereby I had breakfast with my parents and off we go for continuous shopping trip! Craziness I know. I spent the whole day shopping at KL and ended coming back with aplenty of shopping bags.

Dinner time came and off we went to Mandarin Oriental. Food was delicious and most importantly, celebrating my 21st birthday with my family is definitely more important than anything and everything in this world. Dinner was scrumptious and after dinner we headed home immediately for cake cutting session and opening of gifts. I would like to express my gratitude before moving on to the pictures, so here goes. Thank you Daddy for the ‘fat ang pow’, Mommy for my ‘key to freedom’ and sister for the ‘presents and $$$’ :D Without you three, I wouldn’t be what I am today. Thank you and I love you (Dad, Mom and Sis)

Our Road Trip :)

Sweetheart and I had a one week long road trip approximately 2 weeks back to Alor Setar, Langkawi, Penang and Ipoh. It was planned even before my final sem was done and over with :) Main objective for the road trip was to hunt for good food and for the beach (which was a disappointment in the end. Sobs!).

We started our journey by heading straight to Kedah to visit Sup and also to head on to Langkawi the next day :) We were disheartened with Langkawi as it was raining throughout the days we were there, the people there are especially rude, the messy town and best is, we’ve got conned by the locals there. RAWR. Word of advice from Sue, never ever visit Langkawi if you’re planning on a relaxing trip.

After Langkawi, we headed to Penang. Penang turned out to be way better than Langkawi as everything fell in place. Weather was excellent, food hunt was a success and we definitely fulfilled all our cravings :) We dropped by Ipoh before we left back for KL. Again, the moment we reached Ipoh, it was food all the way! :) I suspect I did gain quite a few kilograms throughout the one week trip alright!

All in all, it was an amazing trip and with such awesome company, our road trip was a success! Thank you so much darling for making this trip an amazing one and thank you Sup, Chia-E, Joanne and Lishan for making time and taking us around!

For the past 6 months, I have never been happier in my life, though we’ve been on long-distance for three months. To be honest, I didn’t really feel the distance for the last three months as we’re always happy talking and loving one another. And the feeling of me in his arms again the moment I met him was magical. It never felt so real which almost left yours truly blinded at that instant. Everything seems the same or must I add, even better than what it used to be. The quotes “I’ll love you more than yesterday” seems to fit in pretty well for us both :) Alright, I better stop getting all mushy and actually get to the topic ;)

We celebrated our belated half-yearly anniversary yesterday and this time around, it was all planned out by me! HAH! Finally, it’s my turn to do something and not him spoiling and loving me endlessly all the time! :D We managed to catch my all-time favourite movie “The Time Traveller’s Wife” at GSC Signature, The Gardens. The movie was AMAZING. As expected, I practically could fill buckets by the end of the movie (yeah, cried like a baby). My review on that movie is definitely a 10/10. ‘Nuff said.

After the movie, it was lunch at Fong Lye, The Gardens. This restaurant serves a variety of Taiwanese food. I must say that the food was pretty good and can pretty much come close to the food in Taiwan itself. Go try it if you haven’t! We ate like gluttons and licked every inch clean (my tummy was pretty much GROWLING throughout the movie! *shy).

Approximately FOUR years ago (flashback, recap!), the day when SPM ended which also meant the end of high school, my parents and sister sat me down and talked some senses into me. I was asked to sit down and properly decide on what are my plans for the coming five years. From the moment I chose Monash University Foundation Year (MUFY), I know I HAD to go to Monash University, I know I had to pursue Bachelor of Business and Commerce and I even know I had to major in Economics, Banking & Finance.

Although as time passes and there were certain obstacles along the way, I am happy that I actually completed the route which I planned out four years ago. What’s haunting me now? Is that the five years will be up soon enough (to be exact, end of next year!), it’s about time to plan what I wish to pursue in five years to come. It’s a whole new different thing altogether. You don’t just study, sit for examination, attain good grades and mission is then accomplished. In the real world, it’s about taking charge of responsibility and should you fail, there may not be a second chance anymore.

I don’t wish to rely on my parents forever and I obviously don’t wish to be a rich “tai tai” anytime soon as I know all this visions (my perception, please don’t judge!) are IMPRACTICAL. You know that even if you do rely on your parents, that only mean you never left the shelter that they’ve been protecting you with throughout these years. You know that even if you become a rich man’s wife, you may have all the luxuries in the world but are you actually happy living a life like this? C’mon, it’s the real brutal world, nothing comes easy, and NOTHING IS PERFECT.

I finally understood why people always say that at the age of 21, it will be the turning point of your life. Although I tried very hard to follow the quote of “go with the flow”, I just couldn’t. I cannot bear seeing myself without a vision and a mission to be accomplished. I do not want to regret on things later on in life with the excuse of not taking charge of any responsibility earlier or for the least, taking initiative to MAKE THINGS WORK.

So the question is, where and what do you picture yourself as in five years to come?

30th, 2nd, 3rd, 13th. Numbers I dislike to see for now.

Sigh, the worst part comes when I actually have sore throat, cough and flu altogether right about now which make me feel drowsy all the time. SOBS.

Another year older, another year wiser eyh? So it's this time of the year again when finals are nearing, birthdays are coming and year-end holidays to look forward too! :) I always like it when the year draws nearer to the end. hee!

Anyway, my sis sure feels the best birthday ever this time around! Birthday dinner and normal blowing cake session with the family, birthday presents from me (expensive Aussie goods alright!), two bouquet of roses from anonymous (secret admirers, I bet!), aplenty of birthday meals, and gazillion birthday wishes. I am so envious already!

But of course, with envy comes care and love for you. I was once asked, “What do you like/love about your boyfriend or girlfriend, name THREE at least”. And I instantly asked the boyfriend and he could immediately answer me with at least three (that’s only for me to know!).Impressed I was, I then started to think from my point of view and here goes.

1. Pleasant Personality.
The overly sweet and nice personality you’ve got really swept me off my feet. How willing you are to sacrifice anything and everything for me only proves that you really love me :) Again, that’s only for me to know.

2. Laughter.
As they always say, a person who really loves you will only make your days filled with laughter and joy. I’ve got to second that, really. Through thick and thin, you never once made me upset or doubtful. Currently, I still do feel like a kid with countless candies for every time you make me happy, sweetheart :)

3. Charismatic persistence.
The attitude of “Never giving up on what I feel is the one” really did made me fall head over heels. Till today, you never once gave up on us although I may get extremely pessimistic at times. I for one who never trust long-distance relationships (LDR) but as of now, we’re actually coping well with LDR and distance isn’t a big deal after all.

4. Witty & Funny.
You’re the one whom I can talk to for long hours and never once I would get bored of. In fact, from the moment we start talking, it’s ALWAYS terribly difficult to end the conversation. That explains the eye bags for both of us eyh?

5. Patience.
Your level of patience for a guy is definitely above average. Although at times, I had my mood swings, irritate you as much as I could and constantly get you on your nerves, you never once get back at me. Truth is, you will tell me in a nice manner and advice me wisely which only made me feel guilty in return.

Seriously, the list goes on.. and I cannot imagine jotting each and every one down as it will take forever to do so! Moreover, some things can’t be elucidated through words. ;) So I shall end this with a simple yet meaningful, I Love You darling :)

It’s amazing how fast-paced technology can get and how we’re trying to catch up with the latest inventions made available. As I was doing my daily online shopping, I stumble upon this website which sells ‘lomo’ cameras. OMG, spell C-O-O-L and A-W-E-S-O-M-E can?

In case you didn’t understand a single thing which I just wrote, here is a brief description of what a ‘lomo’ camera is all about. “The original “LOMO” means a kind or camera which is available 20 century the fifties, it is keen to Red, Blue and Yellow colour. Nowadays, “LOMO” means a kind or attitude when you take a picture, just click and snap. Don't think about the aperture, shutter and don't even mind the angle or the composition of a picture. Although the picture that you take is over exposure or blur, if it can attract your eyeball, it’s mean a successful picture” --- quoted from Kawaii Store.

Pretty interesting isn’t it? And as I was looking through the website, they do not only provide the conventional single lens ‘lomo’ camera, they now have them in 3 lens, 4 lens and even aqua waterproof ones! Yums* How to resist temptations like this? Rawr. After viewing and reading plenty of reviews about lomo cameras, I’m certain to add this cute little “lomo camera” into my 21st Birthday Wishlist! :D Alright, check out the pictures already! I figured since today marks the 9th of September 2009 (090909), I’ve decided to finally update my blog. Yeah, just for the fun of having 090909 entry eyh? Lol. Seriously, at crucial times like this when I have tons of assignment, presentation and what not to be completed, I tend to deviate from my responsibilities and end up spending my time on unproductive activities. Truth is, I’m not in the best mood and blogging always seems to help me release stress which makes this another reason to blog after all eyh?

Sigh, I guess the latest topic in Monash being talked about is “Monash Ball 2009”. A few weeks back, when a few friends of mine were trying very hard to persuade me to attend, I answered with a straight NO. But, as the event draws closer, more friends persuaded me and now I’m contemplating whether or not to attend. Why am I so fickle minded? =( Thing is, I’ve got 2 assignments due on that day and the next day, I’ve got a talk to attend. Rawr. Decision-making once again :(

Anyhow, enough of ramblings, overdue pictures coming right up once again! Easter Break, that is. A few friends came to visit and we did quite a fair bit of travelling, shopping and sight-seeing! It isn’t funny at all when my day literally starts at 7am and ends at 3am every single day. RAWR. And for a person who loves her beauty sleep so daymn much, this is no doubt physical and mental torture. :( I go to uni like a walking zombie and come back home lying dead on my bed (but just for a mere few hours) and reality comes haunting me again and awake I have to be. ARGH, 7 more tasks to be completed in this one month. Everything and anything all squeezed together in 1 month time span. I don’t remember having such a life in Aussie. =( Trust me, when it comes to workload, Malaysia’s quantity of workload can’t beat Aussie’s (least for my course). Sigh, come on Sue, you’re not the weakling I know of, just one month, and you’ll be done with assignments, tests, presentations and what not. Yes, I know I can, I will and I must! Toughen up, put on your head gears and off you go battle it out Sue! Alright then, back to studying for the upcoming test for tomorrow!! :(

In the midst of completing my workload, I took a break and pondered on our memories. I then smiled to myself and my stress level slowly soothed. Though the memories we had were limited, I really thank you for all that you’ve done for me. The little getaway at Gold Coast you had perfectly planned was beyond indescribable. I still remember you had to unconditionally repeat yourself for every time I bugged you to let me know what you're up to and all you said was “Don’t worry dear, I’ve got it all planned out. All you’ve got to do is enjoy yourself for the trip” :) Looking back at our pictures really made me smile. Thank you bi =) *Hugs and kisses*

My Addictions!

Yes people, if you haven't get your hands on this novel, pretty pretty please do and have a good read before the movie is released! You will have no regrets on this, trust me! The Time Traveler's Wife is definitely one of the best romance novels I've ever read which made me teared the entire process of reading. I cannot imagine watching the movie when it's released seeing that I am already tearing by watching the movie trailer. Yes, I know I'm a sucker for this sort of movie. ;P

Ah, my ultimate favourite piece of television series, One Tree Hill. An avid fan since highschool till today, I definitely still am. Although the plot isn't exactly what I would anticipate in anymore, (yes I still root for Lucas and Brooke to be together!) I still am a number #1 "One Tree Hill fan".

The days never seem to get bitter with Gossip Girl. This series spells DRAMA throughout the entire season and I never fail to enjoy every episode of this. A little on the "upper-east side" and conflict of the rich and famous spice things up! Do watch it if you haven't. It does make your day to be a better one, least, it is for me ;) I shall end with the famous quote from Gossip Girl "XOXO, You know you love me" ;).

Before I begin my long-winded outdated updates, I would like to thank those who were so supportive and caring when I had my worst week of my life. And to my disbelief, my hits skyrocketed at the moment I published my unlucky day at Monash, many asked how was I and helped out whenever they could. Really, thanks a bunch you guys! You know who you are! Love you guys to bits! =)

Catch Up @ Max Brenner's
My first visit to Max Brenner’s wasn’t exactly what I have expected. Probably I was too exhausted dancing away from the night before; I was drained out the next morning. Anyhow, meeting up with Eu Jean and Henndrik was awesome! Though we girls dragged the only boy around with us for shopping and by the time it was 5pm, the poor boy was too tired of grumbling. Lol. Thanks, you! :)

We chatted, caught up and did a whole lot of talking in that few hours. It was indeed fun and interesting! A Sunday filled with lovely people, terrific weather and a mug of hot chocolate, ah, that was indeed life. :)

I remembered that Jay’s birthday celebration was on the same day as Chadstone VIP Shopping Day. Without avail, the girls (including me!) sacrificed our beauty sleep and woke up at 10am to hop on a bus to Chadstone Shopping Mall. The moment we reached, we wasted no time which meant; no talk, just shop.

Craziness I know but you cannot imagine how the world “sales” can make a great impact on us girls! Lol. As usual, we girls lugged plenty of pretty things back home and satisfied we were by the end of the day. The best part of VIP shopping day? Shops only close at 9pm! I know, 9pm is really early if you're in Malaysia.We then went back and got ready for Jay’s birthday dinner at Docklands.

Berthe, Docklands serves really exquisite yet delicious food. With its strategic location, we had a great time, sipping wine and enjoying the beautiful night scene of Melbourne. There were quite a few of us that night and the food definitely met my expectation. Though the meal came up to $80+ per person, the meal consisting of an entree, main course and dessert were served for each person. Again, there’s always a price to pay for yummy food! :) We all then adjourned with a smile on our faces and tummy satisfied. =)

Dim sum for breakfast with the family was awesome! It's been a long time the family had proper breakfast together. Best part was, I was the driver for the entire day! Then, hopped on to The Curve and did my daily dose of shopping =) Splurged away my monies and a happy girl is what you get my dears! :)

Aside from being the driver of the day, I was also the Chef for dinner! :) It was western food for dinner! Tee hee, and dinner ended up with two thumbs up compliment from my guinea pigs! Indeed, nothing makes me happier than having a wonderful, happy family =) This is love.

Monash Sunway, The Path to Excellence?

Before I start throwing brutal comments, I would like to disclaim any offensive content seeing that all comments are truly of blogger’s own heartfelt emotions and complaints. *takes a deep breath* Started off my day beautifully by waking up early and got myself prepared for lecture at 11. By the time I arrived uni which was approximately 1020am, Monash Sunway carpark was supposedly “full” and the securities wouldn’t allow us to go in.

As I googled the exact meaning of “full”, it simply means “Of maximum or highest degree”. So what does this mean when I actually saw cars coming out from the parking? That only means there are cars coming out which meant more parking spots! I then wind down the window asking the security “kenapa tak boleh masuk? Ada kereta keluar kan?” And he just reluctantly told me “tak boleh la amoi, sudah penuh”. What, you’re trying to tell me that cars coming out from the carpark still indicate no parking? So what do you do with the vacant spots? Build spider webs?

I then kept my heat low and went out to the other side of the road and started searching for parking. After 10 to 15 minutes of searching, I still couldn’t find any vacant parking spot. I didn’t want to be late for class and made an illegal side parking hoping that I wouldn’t be that unlucky to get fined as my class only last for an hour and the half.

Mind you, I had to walk approximately 10 minutes under the scorching or rather burning hot sun to and fro for that one class. And to my dismay, as I was walking back to my car after class, indeed summon was clipped below my window wipers. I was more than furious already seeing that my car was burning hot, my body temperature was rising and seeing that summon didn’t help at all!

And it isn’t any ordinary summon but it’s a police offence! This is just great. I’ve got to “thank” Monash Sunway for such hospitality and great service offered. I really hope they could be wiser next time around by letting students’ park when there are cars leaving. Not only that, most of the time, the securities are sleeping away when their “initial” duties are to safeguard our cars. There were other problems which I encountered last semester as well which got me boiling inside.

As if the university isn't already congested with humans, the cafeteria food is beyond atrocious, the amount of people building up human traffic is unbelievable and the units offered in Malaysia are rather limited. Please, like how the motto suggests "I am still learning", then practice this! Sigh, am honestly disappointed with this university, specifically this campus already.

Whatever it is, I’m really glad and I do wish that this will be my final semester. I’ve had enough of all this nonsense. And from today onwards, I officially despise Monash Sunway Campus and if any of you who will be planning to study in Monash Sunway, please think again.
